Yankees Prospect nicknamed “Avatar”

March 12, 2010 at 10:55 am by Terez in Andrew Brackman, New York Yankees

You don't need 3-D glasses to hit my pitch Terez..

At 6 feet 10, Andrew Brackman has to watch his head before entering the Yankees’ clubhouse. Just by walking out to the mound, he draws attention. And when he’s out in public, Brackman gets noticed to the point where strangers are compelled to say something in his presence. “People are starting to call me an Avatar now,” said Brackman, who’d rather be known as a right-handed pitcher finally on track to Yankee Stadium. His big-league ETA might not come for another two full years. Though he feels “100 percent” back from reconstructive elbow surgery, Brackman has just one pro season under his belt – and miles to go before he’s complete. — Bergen Record

The kid will be lucky if the nickname sticks..which means he’d relevant as a major leaguer. -TO
