Tony Romo Trying To Earn Tour Card Through Q-School

Tony Romo is gearing up for his second season as an NFL analyst for CBS. Apparently, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is also preparing to make a run at a Tour card. Romo, 38, is entered as an amateur in the 68-player field for the Tour Q-School pre-qualifier at Lantana (Texas) Golf Club, which begins Wednesday. Romo, who plays off a plus-0.4 handicap, is the first former athlete in another major professional sport to enter Tour Q-School since tennis player Mardy Fish in 2014. In total, 228 spots in first stage are up for grabs at the five pre-qualifying sites, though it is unknown yet how many will be available at Romo’s qualifier. – TO
