Manu Ginobili had to have a series of rabies shots after coming in contact with a bat at the Spurs-Kings game Saturday night. It sounds funny now, but doctors didn’t think it was so funny. Manu saw specialists on Monday, who recommended that he get a series of shots that will take up to a month to complete. The bat lived; however, the Spurs could not find the bat to test it, so Manu had to get shots just in case.  Experts at the San Antonio Zoo say not all bats have rabies but many do and they live with it.  Steve McCusker, the director at the zoo, says rabies is typically passed through a bat bite. But even if you just touch them, you are still at risk.  “Many of them — if you can get that close so you can touch, grab or catch — are sick already,” McCusker says. -WOAI.com

Now Manu could handle bats all he likes. -TO
