Ravens safety Matt Elam was arrested early Sunday morning in Miami and charged with one count of cannabis possession, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of reckless driving. The 25 year old, former first round pick, reportedly had 126 grams of marijuana and three grams of oxycodone in his possession at the time of his arrest. The Ravens did not pick up his fifth year option and Elam is set to become a free agent in March. Following his arrest the Ravens issued a statement saying he was not in their plans for 2017. I always say, there’s nothing better than starting off free agency with a drug arrest.- TO
Following his arrest on multiple charges, #Ravens say this on FA safety Matt Elam: "Matt is not in our plans for the 2017 Ravens."
