Last week, New England Patriots tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and St. Louis Rams punter Johnny Hekker were awarded a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly with the US Navy’s Blue Angels in El Centro, CA at their Winter Base. They were nominated based on their leadership, positivity, and impact in their respective communities and love for aviation and flying. Michael recently re-signed with the Patriots and was the starting tight end last year. Johnny is the Rams starting punter, went to the Pro Bowl, and set the all-time NFL record for net punting last season. Michael and Johnny’s Blue Angels flight does not even compare to Larry Fitzgerald’s Thunderbirds flight because the Thunderbirds wear G Suits AND Oxygen Masks while the Blue Angels use breathing and bodily techniques to combat the pressure, altitude, and positive/negative G-Force!
