New York Media Throws Carmelo Under the Bus

April 18, 2011 at 9:06 am by Terez in Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks

The New York Knicks had a great shot at stealing game 1 in Boston…The C’s ended up winning the game, but the loss has left a bitter taste in the mouths of the New York Media…The blame is getting spread around, but most of it is squarely placed on Carmelo Anthony shoulders…Here’s a review of Melo’s work via NY Daily…”Melo was acquired just for moments like this and in the moment of truth he didn’t deliver. He had as many turnovers (5) as field goals and suffered through a nightmarish fourth quarter. Anthony was 1-for-11 with three points in the second half, one point in the fourth quarter. His offensive foul with 21 point seconds left set the stage for Allen’s dramatic three and then Melo missed a potential go-ahead three to win it. Grade: D” With Billups injured there’s no shot the Knicks get past the Celtics…Unless of course Melo steps it up and goes bananas the rest of the series. -TO
