Michael Bennett Surrenders To Face Felony Charge

Last week, we told you that Philadelphia Eagle Michael Bennett was indicted for allegedly injuring a disabled security guard at the Super Bowl. On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman surrendered to authorities. His lawyer, Houston defense attorney Rusty Hardin, went on record to claim his innocence.

“He didn’t do it,” Hardin told reporters after Bennett’s brief court hearing according to a live feed from station KTRK via CNN. “Michael did not assault this lady … Michael never touched her.”

Bennett was fingerprinted shortly after and taken to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office where he is expected to post $10,000 bail. – TO
