Starting during the 2018-2019 NBA season, the Dallas Mavericks will be making a huge change to their entertainment in regards to the dancers. The franchise recently let the public know they will be seeing more skill and less skin from their cheerleaders. Mavs CEO Cynthia Marshall has ordered less revealing uniforms and more wholesome routines, as she told Sharon Grigsby of the Dallas Morning News. She stated the organization wants to focus on the “dancers as artists and to highlight their skills, not be eye candy or sexualized.” “Everyone should feel comfortable—both the performers and everyone in the arena,” she said Tuesday. “If someone brings a 10-year-old to the game, I don’t want them having to cover the kid’s eyes during performances.” – TO
