Father sentenced two additional years for attempt to see his son play in the 2009 Sugar Bowl

Mark Ingram Sr., a former NFL star with the New York Giants and father of Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram Jr., was sentenced Monday to more than two additional years for jumping bail in an attempt to see his son play in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. U.S. District Judge Thomas Platt felt terrible in imposing the additional 27 months, but Ingram  has had a long criminal history since retiring from the NFL. “I do this with a heavy heart,” Platt told Ingram, “You’ve had a remarkable career and your son has a remarkable career. It’s too bad it had to end this way.” A very tragic story, but luckily for him he’ll only be 46 when he’s released..that is assuming he stays out of trouble. -TO
