The former head coach clearly holds no resentment towards the team after he made his first public comments after his dismissal. The New York Post had them all and they were some zingers.
First up, was the Giants potential on winning the NFC East despite the Eagles coming off a Super Bowl win. “I think Philly, how much success has Philly had?” McAdoo said. “I think they’re gonna have a hard time handling success.”
Next up, was how much he liked the Cowboys talent on the roster, but questioned how injuries and off the field controversies will translate into wins. “I like their offensive line, but how long have we been saying that?” he said. “Their defense, they got a bunch of young guys playing DB, Sean Lee is banged up a lot, and their D-line, they got a bunch of guys getting in trouble all the time.”
He didn’t spend too much time on the Washington Redskins at all. “Washington is Washington, right?”
His love affair with his former team took a dark turn as he ripped certain players on the squad, especially tackle Ereck Flowers and Nate Solder. “He can’t bend, you got to be able to bend,” McAdoo said. “You can run around him on that side just like you can on the other side, Eli (Manning) just gets to see it.” “Getting a left tackle in there will help them in a lot of ways,” McAdoo said of Solder. “I don’t think he’s a very good player, but I think it will help them in a lot of ways where they needed help in that room in the past and they haven’t had anyone to do that.” – TO
