A football player from Duquesne University died this week after a horrifying fall from a dorm room window, school officials have announced. WPXI reports that campus police were called to the Brottier Hall residences at Duquesne at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday because of an alleged altercation. When police arrived, a man Duquesne University President Ken Gormley later identified as junior Marquis Brown fell out of a 16th-floor window. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died. “Please join me in praying for Marquis, his family, and his many friends and teammates during this time of great sadness for the entire campus community. May he rest in peace,” Gormley said in a statement. Brown, who was from Washington, D.C., played running back for Duquesne. Police are still investigating the details surrounding the tragic incident. A memorial service is being planned on Duquesne University’s campus and will likely be held Sunday evening, Gormley said. – TO
