Cardinal WR Christian Kirk Was Arrested At The Waste Management Open

Christian Kirk went a bit later than expected in the 2018 NFL Draft, and that may have had something to do with the former Texas A&M star getting arrested two months before the event. Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reported on Monday that Kirk has been charged with disorderly conduct and property damage following an incident on Feb. 3 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The wide receiver and some of his friends were allegedly seen throwing rocks at cars outside the venue, and they broke at least one car window. “The suspects were intoxicated and leaving the WMPO,” a report from the Scottsdale Police said. “As they were walking through a parking lot, security personnel observed them throwing rocks at cars and breaking a window of at least one of them.” The case is currently pending, and the Cardinals say they were aware of it before they drafted Kirk in the second round. Kirk ended up being the 47th player selected. “We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently,” a Cardinals spokesperson told Somers. “Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won’t comment further.” – TO
