The Red Sox still were undecided after yesterday’s 6-5 win against the Minnesota Twins, but indications were they would drop slumping designated hitter David Ortiz in the batting order tonight, likely to the No. 5 or 6 spot. Ortiz said before leaving the Metrodome yesterday that he wasn’t sure where he would be on the lineup card tonight. “No idea. (Manager Terry Francona) hasn’t left yet right? Let’s go and find out,” said a smiling Ortiz, who sat out yesterday’s opener against left-handed Minnesota starter Francisco Liriano. “He’s the boss, I’m an employee, I follow orders, that’s the way I always have been.” Ortiz is hitting .195 with just one home run and a .299 slugging percentage. He was given three days off in Seattle from May 15-17, then hit his first home run last Wednesday against Toronto. Since then he has gone 1-for-16. — Boston Herald
