The University of Arizona could take preemptive steps to punish coach Sean Miller in the event he is found to have committed an NCAA rules violation.
According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, the Arizona Board of Regents will vote this week on whether to add a clause that would force Miller to repay $1 million if charged with a crime or found in violation of NCAA rules.
That $1 million would come from the coach’s longevity bonus. Language in his contract would already require him to return $300,000 plus bonuses if he is found guilty of major or repeated NCAA violations. – TO
